Dust & Grooves: Adventures in Record Collecting, by Eilon Paz, is a lavishly illustrated, 436-page coffee-table book that explores and celebrates the fascinating and varied vinyl record collections of over 130 collectors. Published in 2014, the first edition sold out pretty quickly. I got the updated and extended second edition as a Christmas present.  I haven’t been able to put it down.

Instrument by Pat Graham – review

Photographer Pat Graham spent more than ten years documenting the intimate relationships between musicians and their instruments. The most fascinating of these have been brought together in this beautiful book. Book review: Electrified by Robert Shaw

At Christmas my son got a hardcover coffee table book about electric guitars. It was given to him by one of his friends. I’m ashamed to say that at the time I ignored it – lots going on at Christmas. But the other day I was tidying his room and came across it again. I opened it up and was very pleasantly surprised. So much so that I sat with it, captivated, for quite some time. Read more…
