The latest release in Fender’s 60th anniversary celebration of the Telecaster is a limited edition model built using Lamboo, laminated bamboo.
The “Tele-bration” Lamboo Telecaster features a Lamboo top and back over an Alder body core, Vintage Style 3-Saddle Strings-Thru-Body Tele® Bridge, Hot Tele® Single-Coil Pickups with Alnico 3 Magnets, Greasebucket Tone Circuit, Lamboo “C” shape neck, medium jumbo frets and is finished with striking tortoise-shell binding and pickguard.
Introduced in 2005, the Greasebucket Tone Circuit, which appears on only some Fender guitars, enables you to roll back the tone control and reduce high frequencies without making the tone muddy – which can happen with some standard tone circuits. Great for sparkling clean tones and creating a solid foundation on which to build overdriven sounds.
If you want one, it will cost you upwards of £1,300. But you’ll be getting something very special for your money.
